VPP and UDP leading in most seats in KHADC,JHADC polls

The vote tallying for the ongoing elections in Meghalaya continues to bring significant shifts in political trends across key constituencies. The Voice of the People Party (VPP) and the United Democratic Party (UDP) have been showing notable growth in several rounds, while the National People’s Party (NPP) remains a strong contender. Mawkyrwat, Langrin, and Umsning have emerged as battleground constituencies, where VPP and UDP have been competing closely with NPP. In Langrin, UDP took the lead in multiple rounds, securing 2,251 votes in Round 3 and maintaining its dominance in Round 4. Meanwhile, VPP has made significant gains in constituencies like Umsning and Mairang Nongkhlaw, steadily increasing its voter base.

As the counting progresses, UDP has maintained a strong presence in Nongpoh and Jirang, securing steady voter support, while NPP has retained its influence in Mawkyrwat and Jirang despite increasing competition from VPP. The Indian National Congress (INC) has struggled to gain traction in most regions, with its highest vote counts seen in Umsning and Jirang but still lagging behind the top contenders. Other parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), have witnessed limited support, with BJP receiving minimal votes in Langrin and Mahwati.

With each round bringing new twists to the electoral race, the competition remains tight between UDP, VPP, and NPP, signaling a possible shift in the political landscape of Meghalaya. The increasing support for VPP suggests a growing demand for new leadership, while UDP’s steady performance indicates continued faith in regional leadership. As the final results approach, all eyes remain on the top contenders and their potential to shape the state’s political future.
