Tata Passenger Electric Mobility signed a non-binding MOU with Vertelo

In a move set to reshape India’s electric vehicle (EV) landscape, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. (TPEM), a subsidiary of Tata Motors Ltd., has forged a strategic alliance with Vertelo, a Macquarie-managed integrated fleet electrification platform. The collaboration aims to expedite the adoption of sustainable e-mobility solutions across the nation.

Under the terms of a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), TPEM will supply Vertelo with 2,000 XPRES-T EVs, marking a significant milestone in India’s EV revolution. The partnership underscores TPEM’s commitment to leading the charge in sustainable transportation and Vertelo’s dedication to advancing fleet electrification initiatives.Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., lauded the collaboration, emphasizing TPEM’s market leadership in passenger EVs and its contribution to India’s burgeoning e-mobility sector. The XPRES-T EV, unveiled by Tata Motors in July 2021, boasts impressive features tailored for commercial fleet use, including rapid charging capabilities and advanced safety features. With the support of Vertelo’s integrated fleet electrification solutions, the XPRES-T EV is poised to revolutionize India’s transportation sector, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional combustion vehicles.Backed by Macquarie Asset Management and the Green Climate Fund, Vertelo is poised to invest $US1.5 billion over the next decade to accelerate fleet electrification efforts and combat climate change.
