In Cooch Behar endangered tortoise rescued

Cooch Behar, 25th December: In a commendable initiative towards conservation of wildlife, a resident rescued an endangered species of tortoise from Cooch Behar. As per reports, Pritam Das, a resident of Ward No. 19 in Cooch Behar, found the tortoise put up for sale in the Kalighat-Ghoramara area. Upon discovering the animal, Pritam purchased it from the seller for Rs 100 and immediately informed the Mohan Raksha Committee. Following this, the committee members, along with the forest officials, arrived at Pritam’s residence and recovered the tortoise. As a consequence, Pritam’s approach to forest conservation has been greatly regarded. In this regard, Mohan Raksha Committee General Secretary Ranjan Sheel actually mentioned the rare existence of the animal and acknowledged Pritam for rescuing the tortoise. Meanwhile, Forest Department employee Dulal Das stated that, following an adequate investigation, the turtle will be released.

This is actually very good news as people are taking care of animals and thinking to protect the wildlife. Today in the fast developing world human being is becoming more selfish and thinking about them. In this we are actually harming the wildlife and the innocent animals. Actually we need to change our mentality so that we live in a world where every creature can live their life as in this world everyone has an importance.
