Anurag Thakur, the information and broadcasting minister, took a harsh stance on complaints about content on OTT platforms on Sunday, saying it was unacceptable to use vulgar or abusive language in the name of innovation. Speaking at a news conference in this location, Thakur stated that the government has taken complaints of vulgarity and abusive language in content on OTT platforms seriously and would not think twice about taking drastic action to reverse this trend. “These platforms were given freedom for creativity, not vulgarity, and when one surpasses the limit, then flinging insults in the name of creativity cannot be acceptable at all,” Thakur remarked.
