Zubeen Garg Death Case Takes Turn: Two Accused Pull Out Bail Pleas

Two of the five defendants in the Zubeen Garg death case withdrew their bail petitions during a court session led by Sessions Judge Kamrup (Metro) in Guwahati. The court granted permission for Shyam Kanu Mahanta and Sandipon Garg to retract their bail requests, following separate petitions from their counsels citing various developments and personal as well as legal reasons. Concurrently, Zubeen’s wife, Garima Garg, presented a written objection against the bail applications of the remaining three accused: Amrit Prava Mahanta, Nandeswar Borah, and Paresh Baishya. Additionally, the Special Public Prosecutor submitted a written objection concerning these three bail petitions. The court has set January 30 as the date to render a decision on the bail requests.
