Yezdi Roadster wins the “Bike Design of the Year” award from car&bike for its defiant design

The Yezdi Roadster from Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has been awarded the “Bike Design of the Year” at the car&bike Awards, adding another milestone to the motorcycle’s growing recognition in India’s premium mid-capacity segment. Earlier this year, the Roadster also secured the “Best 350cc Motorcycle” title at the Zee Media Auto Awards.

The award was received by Boman Irani, Co-founder of Classic Legends, from noted automotive designer Thomas Dal, Dean of Strate School of Design India. The recognition highlights the Roadster’s distinctive design philosophy that blends cruiser-inspired stance with roadster ergonomics while staying true to Yezdi’s rebellious brand heritage.

The motorcycle features a long, planted silhouette, a sculpted 12.5-litre fuel tank inspired by Yezdi’s historic design language, a wide rear section with one of the widest rear tyres in the segment, and a chopped rear fender that delivers a clean bobber-style aesthetic. A key innovation is its segment-defining modular seating, allowing riders to switch between a solo bobber seat and a dual-seat touring configuration within minutes without compromising the motorcycle’s finished look.

In Kolkata, there has been steady demand for retro-modern motorcycles in the 300–350cc segment, particularly among urban riders seeking distinctive styling and versatility. Models like the Yezdi Roadster are gaining traction due to their classic design appeal combined with modern engineering, making them attractive options in metro markets such as Kolkata.
