Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla extended his heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the joyous and auspicious occasion of Yaoshang.
“Yaoshang, one of the most vibrant and widely celebrated festivals of Manipur, marks the arrival of spring and reflects the rich cultural heritage, unity, and joyous spirit of our people. From the sacred ritual of Yaoshang Mei Thaba to the rhythmic elegance of Thabal Chongba, the celebration comes alive with vibrant cultural performances and soulful devotional music—strengthening bonds of friendship, unity, and harmony across communities,” the Governor said in his message.
“This festival beautifully blends faith and festivity, nurturing love, compassion, and social unity. The enthusiasm of our youth in organizing sports and cultural activities during Yaoshang truly showcases the dynamic spirit and collective strength of our society,” he said.
On this auspicious occasion, the governor called upon everyone to celebrate the festival in the true spirit of mutual respect, peace, and brotherhood. May this festival bring happiness, prosperity, and renewed hope in the state, he wished.
Chief Minister Y. Khemchand also conveyed his warm greetings to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Yaoshang.
In his message, the Chief Minister said, “Yaoshang, celebrated for five days starting from the full moon day of the lunar month of Lamta, signals the coming of spring, ushering the birth of new beginnings.” The festival provides a platform for social bonding for people from all communities and all walks of life. Sports and indigenous events witnessed during the five-day-long festival have a powerful impact on social bonding for people from different social, economic, and religious backgrounds.”
“Let the festival, ushering spring, take the state towards the path of inclusive growth and development. May the festival bring emotional integrity and further strengthen the age-old bonding among various communities who are living together since time immemorial,” the Chief Minister wished.
