When will Suraj-Tanaya meet? Tourists are waiting. They were renamed a few days ago. However, will Suraj and Tania be able to meet during the Puja holidays? People of North Bengal are in hope. However, the Bengal Safari Park authorities of Siliguri said that the final decision has not yet been taken regarding Suraj and Tanaya. In February this year, the first lions and lionesses were brought to Bengal Safari Park in Siliguri. At that time, their names were Akbar and Sita. There is a lot of confusion about that name.
In the end, a case was filed in the Circuit Bench of the High Court at Jalpaiguri, alleging that religion had been hurt by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Later, the state government gave an affidavit stating that Singha and Singhi were named in Tripura. They are not named in this state. The name was changed soon after. Additional Advocate General Jaijeet Chowdhury said that it was alleged that the West Bengal government had named. But we have proved that the name is not given here. The Tripura government named the two lions.
Due to controversy, the name has been changed and informed at the relevant place. Suraj and Tanaya are still hidden from the public eye. That is, tourists cannot see lions even if they go to the safari park. They are currently being adapted to the environment of the safari park. Later will be brought before the tourists. New guests are monitored by CCTV cameras. Doctors are also keeping an eye on health. However, Bengal Safari officials said that no decision has been taken yet on when their visitors will be able to see them.
The news is that you can see them after the puja. Lions and lionesses are staying in their enclosure for now. On the other hand, the lion was also reportedly adopted by a state-owned bank for a year. According to forest department sources, Suraj was born in 2016. Father Dushmant and Chinmayi gave birth to three cubs at Sipahijla Zoo in 2016. The cubs were named after the 1970s Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor movies Amar, Akbar, and Antony. Among them, Akbar was selected for the Bengal Safari Park by the Central Zoo Authority and the State Zoo Authority.
