Vodafone Idea (Vi), one of India’s leading telecom operators, has announced the launch of a baggage protection service for its postpaid international roaming customers. In partnership with US-based Blue Ribbon Bags, this service allows Vi users to claim compensation of ₹19,800 per bag if their luggage is lost or delayed beyond 96 hours. The optional benefit is available for an additional fee of ₹99.
With international travel on the rise post-pandemic, baggage mishandling has become a growing concern. A 2024 SITA report revealed that over 36 million bags were mishandled globally. Vi’s new initiative offers an added layer of security, ensuring customers enjoy a hassle-free travel experience.
Vi postpaid users can activate baggage protection while purchasing an international roaming pack. To avail of the service, customers must register with Blue Ribbon Bags before their flight and report any baggage issues within 24 hours of landing. If the baggage is not recovered within four days, compensation is provided with no further queries. Vi’s International Roaming packs also provide unlimited data and calls across 29 countries, incoming call benefits in 122+ nations, and 24/7 WhatsApp support, reaffirming its commitment to customer convenience and innovation.
