US Department of Justice Initiates Antitrust Trial Against Google

The US Department of Justice (DoJ) has commenced an antitrust trial against Google, targeting its advertising practices. Prosecutors allege that Google’s monetization strategies have unfairly stifled competition in the online advertising market. The company’s AdTech business, which connects publishers with advertisers, accounts for over three-fourths of its revenue.

The DoJ claims that Google has built and maintained a monopoly over ad technology, harming competition and journalism. Google denies these allegations, asserting that its integrated technology enhances user experience and that customers have the flexibility to work with external ad exchanges.
