Ujjivan Small Finance Bank has commenced its ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ from November 11 to 16, 2024, with a focus on promoting vigilance and ethical practices within its banking operations. This year’s campaign, “Watch Out for Each Other,” is in line with the Government of India’s theme, “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity.” Chief Guest Dr. M. A. Saleem, IPS, Director General of Police (CID), Karnataka, inaugurated the event, emphasizing that institutional integrity relies on individual accountability. Dr. Saleem cautioned that any negligence in handling customer funds could expose banks to financial liability.
Top bank executives, including Ms. Sudha Suresh, Independent Director; Mr. Sanjeev Nautiyal, MD & CEO; Ms. Carol Furtado, Whole-Time Executive Director; and Mr. John Christy, Chief Vigilance Officer, participated in the event. Over the week, Ujjivan will host workshops, awareness programs, and quizzes across branches to foster a culture of vigilance and reward employees demonstrating integrity.
In Kolkata, where Ujjivan has a strong presence, the bank’s vigilance efforts resonate well with local customers who prioritize secure, transparent banking services. By bolstering integrity standards, Ujjivan aims to strengthen customer confidence across its Kolkata branches, reinforcing its commitment to ethical business.
