A one-day Awareness-cum-Udyam Registration Drive took place at the Kakching Wairi Sabal Leikai Community Hall, organized by the District Industries Centre under the RAMP Scheme of the Ministry of MSME. Key attendees included Waikhom Birendra Singh, the Chief Guest, along with Soibam Nabakunja Singh and Sapam Lalhari Singh filling prominent roles as President and Guest of Honour, respectively. The event attracted around 120 entrepreneurs and featured Oinam Deben Singh as a resource person.
Future registration drives are scheduled for March 23 and 24, 2026, at Langmeidong Panchayat Community Hall and Elangkhangpokpi Makha Leikai, respectively, from 10 am to 3:30 pm. Individuals involved in MSME activities in Kakching District who have not registered on the Udyam Portal are encouraged to participate. Required documentation includes photocopies of Aadhaar, PAN card, bank passbook, an Aadhaar-linked mobile number, email ID, and the business name and address.
Benefits of Udyam registration include formal recognition for MSMEs, increased credibility with stakeholders like banks and suppliers, access to credit and government schemes, as well as eligibility for various procurement preferences, such as price preferences and exemptions from EMD payments.
