Turkish Airlines Adds London Stansted as Its Third Gateway in London

Turkish Airlines has expanded its footprint in the United Kingdom by adding London Stansted Airport as its third gateway in the capital, after London Heathrow and London Gatwick. The new service, operated with 15 weekly flights, strengthens the airline’s presence in one of its key strategic markets. With this addition, the airline now serves six destinations in the UK — London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, and London Stansted. Combined with Dublin, Turkish Airlines’ total weekly frequencies across the UK and Ireland will reach 168 during the summer schedule. The move further enhances connectivity to its global network spanning 357 destinations across 133 countries.

Speaking at the inauguration, Vice President Sales (Middle and Northern Europe) Fuat Fırat said the UK remains a “key strategic market” and the new route will boost connectivity, flexibility, and regional tourism and trade. London Stansted Airport Managing Director Gareth Powell termed the development a “major milestone,” adding it connects passengers to over 350 global destinations across Asia, Africa, and beyond.

The expanded UK connectivity is expected to benefit Kolkata by improving access to Europe via Istanbul, a major transit hub. Travel operators in Kolkata anticipate increased demand for business and leisure travel, as passengers gain more flexible routing options and improved connectivity to multiple global destinations through Turkish Airlines’ network.
