Toyota’s commitment to serving Military and Special Forces highlighted in the Hilux display

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) proudly unveiled two specially tailored iterations of the iconic Hilux during the North Tech Symposium 2023 (NTS). This annual technology exhibition is orchestrated by the Northern Command of the Indian Army in partnership with the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) and IIT Jammu. Its primary aim is to champion cutting-edge indigenous development and production of defense technology, aligning with the vision of ‘Atmanirbharta,’ or self-reliance in the defense sector. The NTS event this year marks a significant stride in fortifying the Indian Army’s commitment to Synergy, Research Development, and Innovation, advancing the modernization of its capabilities.

Working alongside an authorized external vendor, TKM engineered specific enhancements for the versatile Hilux to cater to a diverse array of requirements, particularly those of the Indian Army. These bespoke vehicles exemplify TKM’s steadfast dedication to devising distinctive solutions tailored to meet the unique demands of its clientele, including military applications. This effort contributes to the evolution of mobility solutions across a variety of markets and sectors, in keeping with the overarching ethos of ‘Mobility for All.’TKM introduced two distinct modifications to the Toyota Hilux to address the specific needs of the army and other specialized consumer requirements. Furthermore, the standard, all-purpose Hilux was also prominently featured at the Symposium, which took place from September 11 to 13 at IIT Jammu.

On a global scale, Hilux sales have surpassed the remarkable milestone of 20 million units, garnering acclaim from discerning customers in over 180 countries. The Hilux offers a choice between a 6-Speed Automatic and 6-Speed Manual Transmission, complemented by an impressive array of features and a robust engine. It is celebrated for its exceptional durability, cost-effective maintenance, and versatility across a multitude of applications.As the demand for 4×4 SUVs continues to surge in India, the Toyota Hilux has earned substantial praise from customers for its appealing design and outstanding driving comfort. This exhibition at the North Tech Symposium underscores Toyota’s enduring commitment to innovation and its determination to meet the distinctive requirements of its diverse customer base.
