Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has reinforced its commitment to skills development in India through various educational programs, highlighted by the expansion of its Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI). The institute, which provides free residential training in automobile manufacturing, has doubled its capacity to 1,200 students, including facilities for 600 female students.
TKM’s Executive VP of Finance and Administration, G. Shankara, emphasized the company’s dedication to fostering inclusive learning environments and supporting the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme announced in the 2024-25 Union Budget.
The company has trained over 110,000 youth through multiple programs, including the Toyota Kaushalya ‘Learn and Earn’ initiative and partnerships with 49 Industrial Training Institutes across Karnataka. TKM plans to expand its collaboration with Government Tool Room & Training Centre (GTTC) from 16 to 36 institutes by 2026, furthering its mission to bridge India’s skills gap.
