To speed up the pension process, Meghalaya introduces an e-pension platform

An important step towards enhancing pension-related services for retired employees has been taken with the inauguration of Meghalaya’s e-Pension Portal of the Office of the Accountant General. John K. Sellate, the director general of the Regional Capacity Building and Knowledge Institute in Shillong and a pr. accountant general, unveiled the platform during Audit Week festivities in 2024.

Sellate emphasized the significance of the Pension Portal initiative in enhancing transparency and efficiency in pension payment processes, stating that it is a significant milestone in their commitment to providing better services to pensioners.

Meghalaya’s Pr. Accountant General, C. H. Kharshiing, has launched an SMS service to expedite the preparation of pension papers for retiring employees. The service will provide monthly updates and notifications to retiring state government employees and their controlling offices, aiming to improve communication between the AG office and pensioners.
