Primary health centers have been built in Assam Tea Corporation-managed gardens as a unique effort to enhance healthcare services in tea garden communities. Under this scheme, Assam’s Minister for Agriculture, Excise, and other departments, Atul Bora, officially opened the finished Rongamati Primary Health Center in the Rongamati tea plantation, Golaghat district. Two physicians, one ANM, and one lab technician have been assigned to this six-bed hospital as part of the National Health Mission’s one-year rural medical service program.
The minister stated in his inaugural address that the opening of this primary health center was directly related to the rural development and general well-being of the people in the tea garden region, and that the current administration is committed to providing access to healthcare services. He added that the facility would offer medical care to the community’s residents and help raise local healthcare standards. In order to keep people disease-free, the Agriculture Minister underlined the value of maintaining excellent health, stressing the importance of regular exercise, abstention from alcohol, and mental health treatment.
