Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced three-shift operations from May 2023 at its manufacturing facility in Bidadi to meet the rising demand for its existing products and new launches in 2022. It will increase production output by more than 30% and add close to 25% more jobs. The Bidadi plant’s Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI), which focuses on raising students’ skill levels, was enlarged last year, increasing its capacity from 200 to 1,200 students. TKM now employs 6000 people, including in production and non-production roles.
Through TEC 2050, which includes the Plant Zero CO2 Emissions Challenge and the use of alternative renewable energy sources, Toyota is dedicated to a better future. To support India’s “Make in India,” “Skill India,” and energy efficiency goals, TKM has concentrated on maximizing plant efficiency and integrating cutting-edge technology.
Mr. Sudeep Dalvi, SVP & Chief Communication Officer, TKM said “Team members are Toyota’s biggest asset and we are happy that the third shift brings in new members into the Toyota family. They are committed to building better and greener cars, contributing to India’s vision of ‘Make in India’ and sustainable mobility.”
