Three militants arrested in Manipur, sophisticated weapons seized

Manipur Police arrested three militants belonging to the banned Kanglei Yawol Kanba Lup (KYKL) outfit from Imphal West district. The arrests were made at Leirenkabi Bazar, according to a police statement released on Thursday.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Jiten Sana Rk (40), Takhelchangbam Ibohanbi (49), and Aheibam Jimson (28). Police recovered an array of sophisticated arms and ammunition, including an AK rifle with a magazine and five rounds, an INSAS rifle with three magazines and 15 rounds, a carbine with two magazines and 140 rounds, and an INSAS LMG magazine.

In addition to the weapons, a four-wheeler, three mobile phones with six SIM cards, and two Aadhaar cards were also seized. The police are continuing investigations into the case to uncover further details about the militant group’s activities in the region.
