On Saturday night, a tragic accident occurred in Assam’s Dima Hasao district, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to four others. The incident took place around 9:30 pm on the New Haflong Approach Road in the Boro Haflong area, where a passenger van, reportedly driven by a driver who lost control, veered off the road and plunged approximately 200 feet down a hillside. The passengers, all vegetable vendors returning from the weekly market in Haflong, were en route to Lumding at the time of the accident. The van suffered significant damage due to the crash. Emergency responders, including police and rescue teams, quickly arrived at the scene to assist and transported the injured to Haflong Civil Hospital for medical care. Among the injured, one individual is reported to be in critical condition.
