The NSCN-K Group’s extortion is condemned by the Chümoukedima Ao Youth Organization

The NSCN-K (Khango) group allegedly harassed and attempted to extort ₹50 lakh from Aolemba Lkr, a prominent member of the community, on December 16, 2024. The Chümoukedima Ao Youth Organization (CALT) strongly denounced this behavior. In a press release, CALT emphasized that Aolemba Lkr is an extremely active member of the organization in addition to being a highly esteemed inhabitant of 7th Mile Chümoukedima.

Aolemba is also the chairman of the Country Craft Development Society and has received both the Governor’s and President’s awards for his exceptional service to the state of Nagaland. According to CALT, such an individual merits praise and protection rather than threats and persecution. On December 17, a formal complaint was submitted to the Chümoukedima Police Station regarding the event. Nevertheless, CALT voiced its displeasure with the lack of advancement in locating and apprehending the extortion demand’s perpetrators.

CALT has urged law enforcement and other relevant agencies to bring the offenders to justice as soon as possible. The youth organization also demanded a safe society and the protection of its members. Concern over the occurrence has been so great that CALT has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting its members and pursuing justice in the face of such difficulties.
