Moatoshi Longkumer, MLA, Advisor for Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Excise, officially opened a brand-new Radio Diagnostic Center (RDC) at the District Hospital Dimapur (DHD). Tikvah Healthcare Private Limited (THPL) and the state’s Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department collaborated to build the institution under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. Speaking at the launch party, Longkumer praised the project as a turning point for DHD and a ray of hope for all Dimapur residents, especially the poor.
He underlined how families are financially burdened by the high expense of diagnostic services. The counselor also emphasized how the center would save time and money by eliminating the need for patients to go to far-off places for diagnostic testing or seek out pricey private services. He urged everyone involved, including the community, hospital employees, and medical professionals, to make sure the center succeeds in achieving its mission of facilitating access to healthcare. To lessen the financial strain on patients, he disclosed that treatments at the RDC would be provided at rates 20% to 42% less than market rates.
It was also announced that MRI services would be added in the project’s second phase. Regarding the center’s profit-sharing plan, Kithan revealed that THPL has agreed to split 10% of earnings with the state government beginning after two years of operation. RDC Manager Dr. Edwin Thungbemo Humtsoe presided over the inauguration program, which included a brief remark by DHD Medical Superintendent Dr. Keveduyi Theyo and an invocation by DHD Fellowship Chaplain Rev. Yhunlo Thong.
