The Bombay court requests a probe into the alleged “disrespect” of the national anthem after the HC rejects Mamata Banerjee’s request for respite

A magistrate’s court in this city ordered police to check into a complaint against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for allegedly disrespecting the national anthem after the Bombay High Court denied her request for respite.
P I Mokashi, Metropolitan Magistrate (Sewree court), gave the Cuff Parade police station in south Bombay the order to conduct an investigation and submit a report by April 28.
A local BJP official named Vivekanand Gupta complained to the magistrate’s court that Banerjee failed to immediately get up during the singing of the national anthem during her visit here in December 2021.
