Tata Motors’ Nexon and Punch lead SUV market with record sales and safety milestones

Tata Motors has cemented its position as a leader in India’s SUV market, with the Nexon and Punch models dominating sales. For the third consecutive year, the Nexon topped the charts, celebrating its 7th anniversary and surpassing 7 lakh units sold. The Punch secured the #2 spot for FY24 and became the top-selling car in March and April 2024. Both Nexon.ev and Punch.ev achieved 5-star BNCAP ratings, with Punch.ev recognized as India’s safest EV.

Tata Motors’ sustained success is attributed to continuous innovation and investment in its compact SUV offerings. The Nexon, launched in 2017, has become synonymous with reliability and safety, being India’s first GNCAP 5-star rated vehicle. The new generation Nexon continues to uphold these standards with stellar sales growth, especially in the last two years. The Punch, with its robust design and safety credentials, has democratized SUV attributes for a wider customer base, recording 170,076 units sold in FY24.
