Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Limited has announced the appointment of Venkatachalam H. as the new Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director. The decision, made by the company’s Board, awaits regulatory approval from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
Venkatachalam H., known as Venky, brings over 27 years of extensive experience in the realms of Life Insurance, Asset Management, and Custodial Services. Having served in various capacities, including President and Chief Distribution Officer at Tata AIA since 2016, Venky has showcased prowess in Sales & Distribution, Strategy, Business and Process Development, and Key Account Management. His tenure has been marked by pioneering initiatives across marketing, strategy, analytics, and direct digital business domains.
The transition comes as Naveen Tahilyani, the current Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, embarks on a new journey within the Tata Group, assuming the role of Non-Executive Director at Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Ltd. Naveen Tahilyani’s leadership has been instrumental in propelling Tata AIA to the forefront of the insurance landscape, witnessing remarkable growth in various key performance indicators. Under his stewardship, Tata AIA has consistently surpassed market expectations, with notable achievements such as being ranked number 3 in retail weighted new business premium and securing the top spot in retail sum assured among private sector life insurers.
