Task force took action on expansion prices of vegetables in Siliguri markets

Siliguri, July 12: In response to skyrocketing vegetable prices, the task force conducted raids in various markets in Siliguri following instructions from Chief Minister (CM) Mamata Banerjee.
The action was taken on Friday morning, targeting several retail markets including Bagrakot wholesale market, Subhash Palli and Ghogomali. During the raid at Subhash Palli market, officials noticed that almost every vegetable was being sold at very high prices.
Officials have started registering the names of traders found selling vegetables at prices much higher than wholesale rates. Task force officials said the market price is now fixed for each trader, and those who fail to adhere to it will face legal action.
