Suzuki’s Next Bharat ventures launches Rs 340 crore fund to empower rural entrepreneurs

Next Bharat Ventures IFSC Private Limited, a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, has launched a ₹340 crore fund to bolster social impact startups across India. The fund will focus on agriculture, financial inclusion, rural supply chains, and rural mobility, targeting Tier II and below geographies.

A key initiative, the Next Bharat Residency program, offers a 4-month immersive experience for early-stage entrepreneurs. Applications are open until July 31, 2024, with the program commencing on October 14, 2024. Selected entrepreneurs will receive ongoing support, resources, and equity investments ranging from ₹1 crore to ₹5 crore.For entrepreneurs in Itanagar, this initiative offers significant opportunities. The local market could see enhanced efficiency and reach through improved rural supply chains and mobility solutions. Access to mentorship, funding, and Suzuki’s extensive network can drive sustainable development and innovation in Itanagar.

Toshihiro Suzuki, President and CEO of Suzuki Motor Corporation, aims to connect with India’s next billion people. Vipul Nath Jindal, CEO and Managing Director of Next Bharat, aims to create hundreds of profitable SMEs. The Suzuki Innovation Center, established with IIT Hyderabad, will also support this ecosystem, fostering Indo-Japanese collaboration for social good.
