Smile Train, a global cleft-focused organization, collaborated with Anandaloke Multispeciality Hospital to conduct a one-day cleft orientation and awareness workshop for state RBSK workers. A workshop at Hotel Ratnadeep was attended by West Bengal government representatives, 40 medical officers from the state RBSK department, National Health Mission, and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers. 100 ASHA workers were felicitated in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, for their contribution in the health sector
The partnership between Anandaloke Multispeciality Hospital and Smile Train has been fostering positive changes in the lives of children with clefts since its inception in 2006. Smile Train has provided over 4600 free cleft surgeries to patients, marking a significant milestone in transforming lives.
The program also offers nutrition counseling, speech therapy, and orthodontics services to patients in need, in addition to cleft surgeries. Expressing her thoughts about the event, Mamta Carroll, Senior Vice President and Regional Director, Smile Train Asia, remarked, “I am immensely proud of our initiative in organizing this joint event for awareness creation and felicitation, which will boost the morale of these frontline workers, enabling them to perform even better and further assist their communities.”
