In a series of extensive search operations across the hill and valley districts of Manipur, security forces have recovered a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition, enhancing their efforts to stabilize the region.
The operations, which targeted vulnerable and fringe areas including Takhel village and the Teraphai/Tuisenphai hills in Imphal East District, resulted in significant finds. Among the recovered items were: one .303 rifle with a magazine, one carbine with a magazine, 15 live ammunition rounds, two HE-36 hand grenades, one WP green color no. 80 mark-1 grenade, one pistol, and 49 empty cartridges.
In addition to the weapons recovery, security forces facilitated the movement of essential goods along critical national highways. They provided escorts for a total of 77 vehicles on NH-37 and 246 vehicles on NH-2, ensuring the safe and unimpeded transport of supplies. Strict security protocols were enforced in vulnerable locations, with security convoys deployed along sensitive stretches to safeguard these essential shipments.
