Shillong set to host two Asian Cup Qualifier matches in March

Shillong is set to host not just one but two international football matches at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in March. Previously, it was reported that the city would host an AFC Asian Cup qualifying match between India and Bangladesh on March 25. However, another match between India and the Maldives is now also expected to take place on March 19 or 20.

This development was confirmed by Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) president Hamletson Dohling, who revealed that the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has sent a proposal for the two matches. According to Dohling, the proposal, submitted by AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey, has already received approval from the Meghalaya Government.
