Senapati All Set to Celebrate International Women’s Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, a press conference was conducted by Mera Yuva Bharat (MYB) Senapati in collaboration with the District Youth Affairs and Sports Office at their Senapati Office. P.S. John Longkhaye, the Youth Officer from DYASO Senapati, announced a series of competitive sporting events aimed at empowering women and girls. He highlighted the National flagship initiative ASMITA (Achieving Sports Milestone by Inspiring Women through Action), designed to promote mass participation among females in athletics. The observance of International Women’s Day in Senapati district is scheduled for March 8, 2026, at Astro Turf, Senapati. The ASMITA event will include various track events and a football match to showcase female talent. Participation is open to all women and girls of Senapati, requiring athletes to obtain a National Sports Repository System (NSRS) ID linked to their Aadhaar Card or visit the My Bharat Office at Old DC Office. The event aims to foster a community of empowerment and sportsmanship, with local leaders, including Paulina Monsang, Deputy Director of MYB, and mentors from Khelo India, showing their support for the initiative and its success.
