Security Review as Governor Visits HQ 26 Sector Assam Rifles

Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and the First Lady visited Assam Rifles Headquarters at Pallel, Kakching district, to flag in a 23-member team from the National Integration Tour 2025–2026. This tour featured leaders from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and members of Self-Help Groups, spanning 15 days and covering cities like Ahmedabad, Delhi, Guwahati, and Shillong. Upon arrival, they were welcomed by Maj. Gen. Gaurav Sharma and Brig. Robeen Chatterjee. The team, consisting of 13 men and 10 women, experienced India’s cultural heritage and democratic institutions through visits to sites such as the Kohima War Memorial, Statue of Unity, and Sabarmati Riverfront, where they interacted with REACHA participants.

In Delhi, the delegation explored landmarks like India Gate and engaged with dignitaries including President Droupadi Murmu and various generals and governors. Governor Bhalla praised the Assam Rifles for facilitating such tours that promote cultural unity and national integration, reiterating the Prime Minister’s vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.” He encouraged participants to promote national harmony and unity within their communities. The participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity and shared their experiences.

Furthermore, the Governor visited Tengnoupal District Headquarters and was briefed on local administrative and security issues. He also interacted with skill development trainees at the Sector Headquarters, encouraging their personal growth. Additionally, the Governor and the First Lady participated in the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign by planting saplings at the Deputy Commissioner’s office complex.
