Security Forces Nab Four UG Cadres; IEDs Seized in Multiple Operations

On Sunday, security forces arrested two active cadres of the National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM) in the New Checkon area of Imphal East district, identified as Phamdom Mangalsana Singh @ Chingsanglakpa (34) and Moirangthem Nepolian Meitei @ Chingkhei (26). These individuals were reportedly involved in recruiting new members for the group, and authorities seized two mobile phones from their possession. That same day, security forces apprehended another individual, Ningthoujam Sanathoi Singh (26), an extortionist and active cadre of the UNLF, from his home in Yourabung Khunou Ward-IV, where a mobile phone was also confiscated. Additionally, on Saturday, Puthem Iton Meitei @ Tomba (33), an active cadre of KCP (Noyon), was arrested under Irilbung Police Station; a mobile phone was recovered from him as well.

In another operation conducted from January 16 to 18, security forces recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition from Kolchung in Henglep Sub-Division, including 15 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) with explosives, eight country-made single-barrel rifles, three country-made 9 mm CMGs, one 51 mm mortar bomb, and various military items such as uniforms, boots, and belts. Ongoing search operations and area domination efforts in vulnerable districts led to the establishment of 114 Nakas/Checkpoints across both hilly and valley regions, although no additional arrests were made during these operations.
