Second Foundation Day of MPDF Observed Across Manipur

The second foundation day of the Manipur People’s Development Foundation (MPDF) was celebrated at Salungfam Mamang Ching in Thoubal district, highlighting the foundation’s aim to nurture responsible youth and develop a self-reliant society. Key figures including MPDF advisor Th. Manihar, President Pebam Bishambhor, and Dr. K. Indrakumar Singh participated in the event. MPDF General Secretary Arunjit Ningthouja delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the foundation’s mission to empower youth facing societal challenges, promoting unity and responsibility among the younger generation.

MPDF has initiated several projects, including the cultivation of dragon fruit and the rearing of hens, ducks, and pigs, along with vocational training programs in food processing and skill development for local residents. New MPDF units have been established across various locations, with plans for future projects at Ningel.

Th. Manihar highlighted the need for unity among Indigenous Tribes in Manipur to foster peace and development. Ema Memma Devi, President of Ima Keithel, underscored the urgency for collective action to secure a promising future for the children in light of current challenges in the state. The event concluded with the distribution of gifts to MPDF leaders and representatives from various community organizations, reflecting a strong turnout from civil society and local leaders in support of MPDF’s initiatives.
