On Monday, security forces conducted a search operation in the hill range area between Wainem and Aigejang, under the New Keithelmanbi Police Station in the Kangpokpi district, resulting in the recovery of various arms and ammunition. The confiscated items included five bolt action rifles, one pistol along with an empty magazine, another .22 mm pistol with its empty magazine, seven 12 bore cartridges, two .22 mm ammunition, and a pompi with one pompi round. Additionally, in a separate search operation in the Sugnu area, under the jurisdiction of Sugnu Police Station in Kakching district, forces seized two Baofeng handsets and a P-cap. Security operations have been ongoing, focusing on area domination and searches in fringe and vulnerable areas across multiple districts, further leading to the recovery of more arms and ammunition.
In the last 24 hours, the movement of 112 vehicles, which were carrying essential goods along National Highway 37 (NH-37), was ensured without any incident. Strict security measures were implemented at all vulnerable locations, with security convoys provided in sensitive stretches to guarantee the safe passage of these vehicles. Furthermore, a total of 113 checkpoints, referred to as Nakas, were established across different districts, including both hilly and valley regions; however, no detentions were reported from these checkpoints.
