Seagram’s Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films, a pioneer in the Indian short film format, brought its interactive activation platform, ‘Select Films, Select Conversations,’ to The Saturday Club Limited in Kolkata on Saturday, December 9. The celebrated short film platform, having won six Filmfare awards and achieved Oscar qualifications, has become India’s largest and most credible destination for short films.Hosted by Mandira Bedi, the evening featured engaging conversations with actors Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin, actor-director Parambrata Chatterjee, and comedian-screenwriter Anuvab Pal. The theme, ‘Fantasy or Funny – Which is the toughest genre?’ sparked discussions about the evolution of Indian cinema, genre diversity, and the significance of short film format. The event, part of an on-ground series across three cities, also included screenings of select Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films.
The on-air component of ‘Select Films, Select Conversations’ is a unique chat show concept spanning three episodes. Prominent voices like Jim Sarbh, Vijay Varma, Kalki Koechlin, Huma Qureshi, and Sujoy Ghosh will discuss cinema with Mandira Bedi.
