In this scheme, your investment amount matures after 15 years. At the same time, interest is being given at the rate of 7.1 percent in this scheme. The Public Provident Fund (PPF) scheme is administered by the government. This scheme also provides tax benefits along with savings after retirement.
How to open PPF Account?
First of all, you have to go to www.onlinesbi.com and open SBI online account tab. After this, you have to select the option of Requests and Inquiries. Click on the New PPF Account link from the dropdown menu shown below. After this, a new window will open, on which the new page account will be displayed. After clicking there you need to enter many details like name, address, PAN card, and CIF number. If you are opening an account on behalf of a minor, then you must tick both the boxes shown below. If you are not a minor, then you should not click on that box. After this, you have to enter the code and name of the branch of your bank, in which you want to open an account. After this, you click on the submit button, after which your application form will be submitted and will appear on the screen. You have to write the reference number showing on the screen and download the form. You have to take a printout of the account opening form from the PPF online application print option. You have to submit this form along with your passport-size photograph and KYC at the branch within 30 days.
