Samsung Electronics announces the One UI 8.5 beta program, introducing new and easier ways to create, connect, and stay safe

Samsung’s newly announced One UI 8.5 beta update introduces improvements aimed at enhancing performance across the Galaxy ecosystem, with a focus on easier content creation and stronger privacy controls. The beta will first be available for the Galaxy S25 series in select regions, including India.

Among major additions, Photo Assist helps users continue editing images without saving every version, while Quick Share improvements automatically suggest recipients based on recognised faces. Samsung said these upgrades are designed to make photo handling more efficient for everyday users. For connectivity, One UI 8.5 adds Audio Broadcast using Auracast technology and features that let users access files stored on other Galaxy devices directly through My Files. This includes access from tablets, PCs and Samsung TVs.

Security updates include identity checks on more settings, along with enhanced theft and authentication protections. Tech observers in Kolkata said the update could interest users who rely heavily on Samsung’s ecosystem for work and personal use. Many consumers in the city already use multiple Galaxy devices, and the beta could help them test upcoming features before wider release.
