Russian Stowaway Pleads Not Guilty in U.S. Federal Court

Svetlana Dali, a 57-year-old Russian national, pleaded not guilty to charges of stowing away on an aircraft at JFK Airport. Dali allegedly bypassed security and boarded a Paris-bound flight without detection. After being returned to the U.S. and initially released with a GPS monitor, she removed the device and attempted to flee to Canada but was apprehended in Buffalo. She faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
