Rural Health Centre inaugurated in Myriaw with ₹38 lakh funding

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated a Rural Health Centre (RHC) in Myriaw, Eastern West Khasi Hills District, today. The event was attended by Sports Minister Shakliar Warjri and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. W. R. Kharlukhi. The RHC, funded through the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund (CMSDF), received an initial allocation of ₹38.8 lakh, with an additional ₹38 lakh set to bolster its operations. Managed by Dr. H. G. Roberts Hospital, Shillong, the facility will cater to 21 villages, becoming the fourth RHC in Meghalaya operated by the hospital.

Highlighting healthcare challenges in rural areas, Chief Minister Sangma said, “Over the past seven years, we have prioritized healthcare with the highest budget allocation of 9%, reflecting our commitment to better services for all.”

The Chief Minister acknowledged the contributions of Dr. H. G. Roberts Hospital and announced plans to upgrade its Shillong infrastructure, introducing Laser Lithotripsy services to enhance advanced treatment options.
