Aarav Bhinde from Rourkela has been awarded the prestigious Global Citizen Scholarship (GCS) by Global Indian International School (GIIS), earning a fully-funded opportunity to study at GIIS SMART Campus in Singapore.
The scholarship, valued at ₹1 crore, covers tuition, boarding, and living expenses for Grades 11 and 12. Aarav was one of only 10 scholars selected nationwide after a rigorous process that assessed academic excellence, leadership potential, problem-solving skills, and commitment to social change. The felicitation ceremony took place at Aerocity, Delhi, where GIIS honoured its 2025 GCS recipients. “This scholarship is not just a milestone, it’s a turning point in my life,” said Aarav, expressing gratitude for the opportunity. He now joins a global student community and will choose between the CBSE and IBDP curriculum in Singapore.
The news has sparked pride and optimism. Local educators view Aarav’s achievement as a beacon for aspiring students, especially those from non-metropolitan regions.
