He had long been afflicted with pneumonia.In 1960, Hazarika started his musical career and went on to sing various songs from Assamese movies. He became well-known among music enthusiasts after several of his CDs were published throughout time.Admirers and members of the cultural community are lamenting the loss of a well-respected voice, leaving a vacuum in Assam’s music scene.With full state honors, his last rituals would be carried out at the Nabagraha cremation in Guwahati.
