On Tuesday night around 11 p.m. A herd of wild elephants was swept away in the Teesta River at the Gajoldoba Teesta barrage in Jalpaiguri. Actually reports indicate that the elephants became trapped in the barrage gate while floating in the river’s current. In fact the situation was quickly noticed by locals and barrage workers, who initiated rescue efforts. Despite their attempts, the strong current at the gate made it impossible to rescue the elephants.
In the end, the gate was opened, allowing the elephants to float away. They were later seen safely climbing to the other side of the river. Actually it is good that everyone tried their best to save the wild elephant herd and people should do it to save the nature. In fact this world is not only for humans but also for all animals and for this reason it becomes a need to adjust us with the nature to make this world a good place.
