Recently a disturbing trend of theft involving advertising banners and hoardings in Siliguri has surfaced, allegedly driven by drug addiction. In fact an individual, identified as Belai Karji, has been apprehended in connection with the theft. Reportedly, an incident of theft actually occurred near a mall in Matigara, prompted a written complaint to the Matigara police station on the May 14. Acting swiftly, the undercover cops of Matigara police station arrested the suspect from Vishwas Colony, shortly after receiving the complaint. Actually initial investigations suggest a link between the theft and drug addiction, prompting further investigation into the matter.

Later the arrested individual has been presented before the Siliguri divisional court, where remand was sought. Currently, efforts are underway to recover the stolen items and identify potential accomplices involved in the criminal activity. This is very sad incident and police should take it very strictly so that this things get controlled. Also people should take these things very seriously and inform about it if they find anything suspicious.
