Students from Raid Shabonng Border Area Government Secondary School have emerged victorious in the cluster round of the National STEM Challenge 2023-24, held at Lumparing Vidyapeeth, Shillong. This prestigious competition, organized by Brillio in collaboration with STEM Learning, aims to foster STEM education among school children across India.The Raid Shabonng students excelled in various categories, with Dapmon Khongbuh and Phibanritngen Suting winning the Science and Mathematics Model Making Competition, and Wanshandame Tynsong and Elisa Nengnong securing top honors in the Tech and Engineering Tinkering Competition. Their success in this round has paved the way for their advancement to the Zonal round, bringing them closer to the grand finale in Bengaluru.
This year-long challenge promotes scientific curiosity and innovation, providing a platform for government and government-aided school students from diverse backgrounds. The challenge is part of Brillio’s broader commitment to skills development and aims to ignite a passion for STEM disciplines among students from grades 6 to 10.The victory is also a significant boost to the local education sector, especially in Shillong. The city’s schools, including those in the Shillong market area, are increasingly recognized as nurturing grounds for future innovators.
