Prostitution Racket Busted: Guwahati Police Conduct Raids on Spa Centres

Guwahati police conducted a series of coordinated raids targeting illegally operating spa centres suspected of being involved in prostitution throughout the city. The operation focused on areas under the Paltanbazar, Panbazar, Chandmari, and Geetanagar Police Stations, following credible intelligence about certain spas operating as fronts for illegal prostitution rings that exploit and manipulate women. To execute this operation, multiple police teams were formed, and raids were systematically carried out across various locations. During these raids, objectionable materials were confiscated at all sites, and the operation was documented through videography and photography with the presence of independent witnesses as verification. As a result of the operation, ten suspects were arrested, and thirteen victims were rescued. In total, five cases have been filed related to this investigation, which remains ongoing, highlighting the police’s commitment to addressing such illicit activities in the region.
