A successful one-day free diabetes detection camp was held at Tentha Heibung Mamang Leikai in Thoubal district, organized by the TESRA Club, Lions Club Canchipur Palace, and the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science at Manipur University, in collaboration with TOTO Diagnostic Centre. The camp aimed to promote early diabetes diagnosis, awareness, and treatment, offering services like blood glucose tests, ECG, and hypertension tests, along with basic health consultations at no cost. Participants received information on diabetes management, emphasizing the importance of physical activity, a balanced diet, and lifestyle modifications. Dignitaries, including Prof. Maibam Nodiyachand Singh and Dr. Khwairakpam Hemanta Singh, spoke about diabetes as a growing public health issue in Manipur and stressed the importance of early detection and proper lifestyle management for health and longevity. The event also featured discussions on local health issues and a lecture on Yoga and Health by Dr. Kh. Mukta Singh. Volunteers helped facilitate registration and awareness activities, with gratitude expressed to the medical team and local community for their support. A total of 50 patients attended the camp.
