Parts of Kohima will have a power outage from November 9–11, 2024, according to information from the electricity agency. Executive engineer Shiludi Longkumer of the electrical division Kohima stated in a press release that the shutdown was required to allow for the relocation of the 33 kV Kohima Ring Main Transmission Tower Line in order to construct a State Emergency Operation Center under the NSDMA in the New Secretariat Complex area of Kohima.
The agency said that on November 9 from 1pm to 4pm, November 10 from 7am to 4pm, and November 11 from 6am to 9am, regions under the 11kV New Secretariat and 11kV Thizama feeders, including Meriema, Thizama, the New Secretariat Complex area, the New Assembly Complex, and Phezoucha colony, will be impacted.
As a result, the agency has asked everyone in the impacted areas to plan appropriately and take the required safety measures. According to the department, due to unforeseen circumstances, the planned power cutoff of 11KV feeders on October 31 and November 3 could not be carried out.
