Police Seize Heroin Worth ₹3.25 Crore in Cachar District, Five Nabbed

Security forces in Cachar district, Assam, confiscated heroin valued at Rs 3.25 crore and apprehended five individuals during a coordinated operation on Saturday. The operation involved both Cachar Police and the Assam Rifles, taking place along the Silchar-Kalain Road following specific intelligence. Authorities recovered 538 grams of heroin, concealed in 48 soap cases, and also seized six mobile phones from the arrested suspects. Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, commended the operation’s effectiveness through a post on X, emphasizing the state’s unwavering commitment to combating drug-related issues with the goal of achieving a drug-free Assam.
