To promote affordable healthcare accessibility, the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra (PMBJK) in Chingmeirong organized a mass awareness rally, part of a week-long celebration highlighting high-quality generic medicines. The rally, flagged off by former Chief Minister Radhabinod Koijam, proceeded from Chingmeirong Khongnang Ani Karak junction to Kangla Fort and back. In his address, Koijam emphasized the critical role of Jan Aushadhi Kendras in alleviating financial healthcare burdens, asserting that these centers provide rigorously tested medicines comparable in quality to expensive branded options, ensuring essential treatments are accessible to all citizens. He encouraged the public to take advantage of the expanding network of these centers for “Health for All.” The event also featured a speech by Mrs. Thoithoi, known as Mombi in Manipuri cinema, who, as a beneficiary of the scheme, shared her personal experiences regarding the positive effects of affordable medication on her family’s well-being and financial situation, underscoring the impact of the PMBJK initiative.
